Who Is a Good Fit for Vella Haven Village ?
WHO MAY QUALIFY?
Adults experiencing homelessness or housing instability who can live independently, participate in a structured shared-living environment, and are willing to work toward employment, income, and long-term housing stability.
WHO MAY NOT BE THE RIGHT FIT?
Vella Haven Village may not be appropriate for individuals who need medical supervision, inpatient treatment, detoxification, or a higher level of mental-health care. Individuals who cannot live safely in a shared setting or are unwilling to follow program requirements may also require a different placement.
Eligibility is determined individually after the referral and intake review. Meeting the basic qualifications does not guarantee placement. Admission is based on program fit, safety, and bed availability.

Our mission is to empower adults experiencing homelessness, housing instability, reentry, and other major life transitions to achieve lasting stability through structured transitional housing, individualized support, education and workforce pathways, peer support, life-skills development, and connections to community resources.
Our Vision
Our vision is to create a village where adults who have been counted out are seen, supported, and given a real opportunity to begin again. We envision pathways to safe housing, education, employment, personal growth, and meaningful community connection—helping individuals move beyond survival, discover that a second chance is possible, and become stable, confident, and contributing members of their communities.

Our Story
Vella Haven Village was created from a deeply personal understanding of what it means to rebuild your life after hardship. Our founder’s lived experience with incarceration, housing instability, and starting over revealed a critical gap: adults in transition often need more than temporary shelter. They need structure, accountability, practical resources, and people who genuinely believe in their ability to succeed.
What began as a vision for safe and supportive transitional housing has grown into a broader community organization serving adults experiencing homelessness, housing instability, reentry, unemployment, and other major life transitions.
Today, Vella Haven Village combines structured transitional housing with peer support, education and employment pathways, life-skills development, individualized stability planning, and connections to community resources. Our Reentry Program remains an important part of our work, but it does not define everyone we serve.
We are building a village where adults can feel supported, regain stability, develop the skills needed for independence, and move forward with dignity and purpose.
